What the certification means, and what it does not.
A ProAdvisor is an accounting professional in Intuit’s program for QuickBooks. Certification means passing Intuit’s exams for a product with at least 80 percent, and recertifying every year.
Intuit used to call Level 1 the QuickBooks Online certification and Level 2 QuickBooks Online Advanced. I hold both.
It is a software credential, not a license. It says I know where things live in QuickBooks Online and how to set them up so the reports mean something. Knowing what the numbers should say comes from seven years across public accounting and corporate controllership.

No. ProAdvisor certification is Intuit's credential for its software. A CPA is a state license. I hold both: I'm a CPA licensed in Minnesota, and certified in QuickBooks Online at Level 1 and Level 2. Northward Ledger is a bookkeeping practice, not a CPA firm.
